1. Who these Terms are between
These Terms are an agreement between you and Ahmed Deghady, an individual service provider based in Cairo, Egypt (referred to as "LogForMe", "we", "us"). LogForMe is not an incorporated company; the service is offered under the founder's individual capacity.
The service consists of the LogForMe web application (app.logforme.com), the marketing website (logforme.com), and the open-source Community Edition published at github.com/ahmed-fawzy99/logforme-ce.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account on the hosted service (app.logforme.com). The Community Edition is licensed under GPL v3.0 and has no age restriction beyond what your local law imposes on running software.
3. Your account
You're responsible for:
- Keeping your credentials secret.
- All activity that happens under your account.
- The accuracy of the data you enter (Projects, Time Frames, Entries, Taxes, invoice details).
- The accuracy and lawfulness of any communication you generate via LogForMe (e.g., invoices you email to your clients).
If you suspect unauthorized access, notify us immediately at operations@logforme.com or via logforme.com/contact.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use LogForMe for unlawful purposes or in violation of any applicable law (including export controls and sanctions).
- Resell, sublicense, or commercially redistribute access to the hosted service.
- Scrape, automate, or stress-test the service in ways that disrupt other users or our infrastructure.
- Attempt to bypass authentication, rate limits, or security controls.
- Use the AI verbal-entry feature to record third parties without their consent in jurisdictions that require it.
- Use the transcription endpoint as a generic transcription proxy unrelated to creating LogForMe entries.
- Infringe anyone else's intellectual property, privacy, or other rights.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules, generally after notice when reasonable.
5. Payments and the Merchant of Record
The hosted service is sold via LemonSqueezy Inc., which acts as the Merchant of Record (MoR). That means:
- LemonSqueezy is the seller of record for tax (VAT, GST, sales tax), refund, and chargeback purposes.
- LemonSqueezy collects payment, applies tax appropriate to your billing location, issues a receipt for your subscription, and handles refunds.
- Your payment-method details go to LemonSqueezy directly. We don't see or store card data.
By starting a paid subscription, you agree to LemonSqueezy's own terms in addition to these Terms.
6. Pricing, billing, and trials
- Pricing is published at logforme.com/pricing. The price you saw at checkout is what applies for your subscription cycle.
- No free trials are offered. The Community Edition is the free path; the hosted service is paid from day one.
- Monthly billing only today. There is no annual plan.
- We may change pricing for new subscriptions at any time. Existing subscribers keep their current price for at least the next renewal cycle, and we'll publish any change on the pricing page before it takes effect.
7. Refunds
- 3-day refund on a first purchase, no questions asked. Email operations@logforme.com or use logforme.com/contact.
- 7-day error window on renewals — if you forgot to cancel, were charged in error, or have a duplicate charge, contact us within 7 days of the renewal and we'll refund it.
- Beyond those windows, refunds are at our discretion, except where mandatory consumer law requires otherwise (see §13).
- Refunds are processed by LemonSqueezy on the original payment method. Allow 3–10 business days for the funds to appear.
- The Community Edition is free and has no refund concept.
8. Cancellation and termination
- You may cancel anytime in account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
- We may suspend or terminate your account for violation of these Terms (notably §4) or persistent non-payment, generally after notice when reasonable.
- On termination by either party, your data is retained per the Privacy Policy and then deleted.
9. Service availability
We provide LogForMe on a best-effort uptime basis. There is no service-level agreement (SLA) on either the hosted service or the Community Edition.
The following are explicitly excluded from any availability promise:
- Outages or limitations of upstream providers (LemonSqueezy, DigitalOcean, Cloudflare, OpenAI, ElevenLabs, Anthropic, Loops.so, PostHog, Sentry).
- Scheduled maintenance, announced where practical via the changelog or email.
- Force-majeure events.
10. AI features
LogForMe uses third-party AI providers for transcription (OpenAI Whisper, ElevenLabs) and for parsing transcribed text into entry fields (Anthropic Claude, OpenAI, or other LLMs). Provider choice may change as we tune cost and quality.
You acknowledge that:
- AI output may contain errors. You are responsible for reviewing every parsed entry before saving.
- Audio and prompts are sent to the relevant provider only for the duration of a single request and are deleted on our side immediately after.
- AI features are not available in the Community Edition.
11. Intellectual property
- Your data (Projects, Time Frames, Entries, Taxes, invoices, voice recordings, etc.) is yours. You can export or delete it at any time.
- The LogForMe hosted service (this frontend + backend codebase, the brand, the design system) is proprietary. All rights reserved.
- The Community Edition is licensed under GNU GPL v3.0. See the LICENSE file in the Community Edition repo for full terms.
- You grant us a limited license to host, process, and display your data only as necessary to provide the service.
12. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:
- The service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
- We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including lost profits, lost data, or business interruption.
- Our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or USD 100, whichever is greater.
Nothing in this section limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law (including, where relevant, gross negligence, willful misconduct, or mandatory consumer-law liability).
13. Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Arab Republic of Egypt.
Mandatory consumer rights carve-out: Nothing in these Terms removes or limits any mandatory consumer rights granted by the law of your country of residence. If you're a consumer in the European Union, the United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction with mandatory consumer-protection rules, those rules apply regardless of the governing-law clause above, and you may bring claims in your local courts where local law allows.
For everyone else, disputes will be resolved in the competent courts of Cairo, Egypt.
14. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The live page is the canonical record — the Last updated date at the top tells you when it last changed. We update this page before any material change takes effect, and may also post an in-app notice or send an email for material changes when practical. Non-material changes (typos, clarifications, link updates) are made silently.
If you don't agree with a material change, you can cancel your subscription before its next renewal.
